Wandering American

Dragon Boat Festival was last week and we celebrated by going to the historic district to see the dragon boats drifting in the canals. It was nowhere near as crowded as I’d feared since most people were watching the boat race at the Pearl River. We got good close up views of the boats and had nice tour of the park where the festivities were before also checking out a temple nearby which I’ll post about later. In all, I was rather unimpressed with Dragon Boat Festival. The excitement died down very quickly and I’m pretty sure the only reason people get excited for it is because most of them get the day off of work. Meh.
