I got the Versatile Blogger Award from Melanie over at Sweet Simple Living a while back and have finally come to a decision. So here it is. The 6 blogs that I read regularly and have chosen for the Versatile Blogger Award.
1. Sylver Black- Sylver is a world traveler and usually has
something important to say on big issues. I think it’s awesome that she does themed blog posts. She inspired me to do a week of nothing but Halloween stuff! And she was back at it over the holidays. She even changes her blog format to reflect the occasion. Wow! She’s got a very informative and entertaining site so go take a look-see. http://www.sylverblaque.wordpress.com
2. Taoist in Training- The author, KaiWen always has something
going on and never fails to disappoint. Sometimes it’s a controlled rant, sometimes it’s a bit of news, but no matter what, he manages to say it in a way that comes off as very personal and that’s something I really like in a blog. We share an interest in China and as such we’ve become good blogging buddies.
Make sure you mozy on over and see what he’s go to say. http://kaiwenboke.blogspot.com/
3. Whatever Works- I really like Moe’s political and news posts but that’s not all she does. She has a rather impressive readership and there’s always interesting discussions going on in the comments. She’s really smart and enjoys a spirited conversation. It’s refreshing to find good blogs not being written by people in their 20’s and 30’s. It gives a different view point on
things and it’s always nice to have some variety in your reading. http://maureenholland.wordpress.com
4. HK Girl Talk- This blog is written by Jin Wong and deals
with all the various aspects of China and its culture. Seeing as how I’m now living in China, not far from Hong Kong either, it’s nice to get the scoop on the latest fashion and cultural trends that are happening. Many of them end up
passing me by since I’m working so much. Anyway, kudos to Jin Wong! http://hkgirltalk.com
5. Contemplating the Human Direction- Tincup runs a very nice
site that’s usually dedicated to deep discussions and has many well-thought out articles that I enjoy reading very much. I really like his writing style and have tried to incorporate some elements of it into my own writing. The topics he goes into are many and they’re sure to appeal to you if you give him a chance. Go show some love. http://tincup68.wordpress.com
6. The Swash- Rob Rimes runs a pretty professional site so I
understand if he can’t make a sappy awards post like me but I still thought I would give him some props. He gets the most important news that you don’t know about and does these absolutely brutal political commentaries. They’re pretty
spectacular so go check it out and tell him beaufortninja sent you. http://www.theswash.com
That’s all folks! These bloggers, some of which have many
readers while some haven’t gotten much recognition yet, are the ones I think deserve more notice. To accept the award, each blog will have to:
a. Write a post accepting the award and show the award’s picture.
b. List seven random and weird facts about yourself – things that probably haven’t already come up in your blog posts.
c. Pass the award on to 5-15 other blogs, ones that you already follow or for which you solicit invitations.
Sounds pretty easy, right? You might like to share some
blogs which you’re currently addicted to or maybe help some lesser known bloggers get a little exposure. It’s all good. Congrats to all the winners. You deserve it! Be sure to pass it on!
